A Hot Rallycross Weekend in Mūsa – Polish Drivers Impressed by the Track, Fierce Battles in Every Class

14.07.2025
This past weekend, the legendary Mūsa Raceland track in Bauska hosted an especially hot and exciting rallycross event — the Mūsa Raceland Rallycross Weekend. A total of 131 drivers from the Baltic states and Poland competed, continuing the Latvia–Lithuania Rallycross Championship series and welcoming Polish rallycross athletes.
Winners were determined across four championships:
  • Round 4 of the Latvia–Lithuania Rallycross Championship,
  • Round 5 of the Polish Rallycross Championship (MPRC),
  • Round 4 of the Polish Autocross Championship (MPAC), and
  • Round 3 of the Latvian Autocross Cup.
This event was particularly special as it hosted a round of the Polish Rallycross Championship in Mūsa, in return for the Baltic drivers' participation in Poland this past May. While the Polish round took place on a track with at least 60% asphalt, the Mūsa circuit greeted the Polish drivers with 60% gravel.
After the races, the Polish drivers were thrilled: “The track is a 10 out of 10! We wish we had a track like this in Poland.” They were especially impressed by the speed, the two jumps, and the fact that the conditions were equal and unfamiliar for everyone — giving the event a unique competitive edge.
Race Results and Class Highlights:
  • Yaris 1000: A dominant win for local driver Toms Bumbieris, who won two of the three qualifying heats. Germantas Geležinis was quick and finished third, while championship leader Mārtiņš Dreibe secured second. Expect a close title fight through the final round.
  • Yaris 1300: A perfect weekend for Katrīna Kleščevska, who won all the qualifying heats and the final. Ričards Laukšteins and Henrijs Mūrnieks finished just seconds behind.
  • Lada RX: Action-packed from the start — Rolands Bružāns flipped his car in Q1, but still finished second in the final. Niks Mežiņš claimed victory, and Andrejs Lajevskis earned his first podium of the season.
  • Cross Car Mini: Season leader Marian Bērzkalns delivered another strong performance, closely followed by Gustavs-Kārlis Rudzājs. Local driver Marta Skustā placed third.
  • Cross Car: An international podium — a convincing win for Niks Apfelbaums, second for Kernius Šulinskas (Lithuania), and third for Pjotr Maluszyński (Poland).
  • Cross Car Junior MT07 (Latvian Autocross Cup Round 3): A chaotic race with black flags and overtaking under yellows, but local driver Patrīcija Neikšāne came out on top. Ritvars Elksnis was second, and Everts Grava third.
  • 1600 Class: Surprise result from Andreas Aulik, who grabbed third place and challenged winner Valdas Mikužis and runner-up Ritis Gurklis.
  • Super 2000: A dramatic first corner in the final forced Jorens Ikers, one of the fastest in qualifying, to drop out of the battle for the win. After the incident, Lenards-Patriks Lepsis took the win, followed by Mārtiņš Spīķis and Ivo Gabrāns. The class saw tough fights, red flags, reruns, and mechanical repairs.
  • BMW RX3000: Kristaps Kronbergs continued to dominate, driving fast and clean. Helmuts Bartkēvičs took second, and Dailis Jansons, one of the fastest in qualifying, finished third. Several others fell out of contention after a chaotic start.
  • Supercar: All three top drivers were fast, but the win went to Mārcis Martinovs, calling it revenge after a broken wheel ended his chances in Poland. Second place went to Zbigniew Staniszewski (Poland), and third to Bruno Blumbergs.
